Mayor of Kyiv tells about the first consequences of the Russian attack on the capital

Russia attacked Kyiv with drones late in the evening, on October 3. As a result of the attack, a fire broke out on the balcony of one of the apartments in a high-rise building.

This was reported by Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko on his Telegram channel.

"Fire broke out on the balcony of an apartment on the 8th floor of a high-rise building in the Darnytskyi district. It was possibly caused by falling UAV debris. Emergency units are on their way to the scene. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties," reads the message at 00:16.

Later, at 00:28, Klychko clarified that during the downing of an enemy UAV, a metal-plastic window frame on the 8th floor of the 16-story building was shattered.

"There are no casualties. The fire was quickly extinguished," he added.

Earlier in the evening, an air raid alert was declared in the Kyiv region, in particular, the military detected Russian drones in the airspace. Explosions were heard due to Air Defense systems worked against enemy targets.

Later, the alert was declared in Kyiv as the drones reached the capital. Vitalii Klychko and the Kyiv City Military Administration confirmed that Air Defense Forces were operating in the city.
