Border guard shoots down a cruise missile — impressive video
On November 17, border guards destroyed a Russian cruise missile during a missile attack in Kyiv region. A fighter with the pseudonym "Utah" distinguished himself.
This was reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS).
How a missile was destroyed in Kyiv region
The SBGS noted that a serviceman of the Zhytomyr Border Guard Detachment, known by the call sign "Utah" together with his comrades tracked the flight of the missile and destroyed it in the air.
"The defender fired a shot from a man-portable air defense system. As a result, the enemy cruise missile was destroyed in the air with an accurate shot, preventing possible damage and casualties," the statement reads.
The border guards added that they are now actively introducing the latest weapons and ensuring high combat readiness of their personnel.
Last week, Russian troops used nearly 140 missiles of various types, more than 900 guided aerial bombs, and more than 600 attack drones to strike Ukraine.
In particular, on November 17, the Russians carried out a massive combined attack on Ukraine. Air defense forces detected 210 enemy air targets — 120 missiles and 90 UAVs.
